SHRM-Atlanta is proud to announce the relaunch of our veteran’s committee, now known as the Veterans at Work Initiative. This committee, led by Monique Jenkins, will focus on supporting the workforce readiness of veterans and their spouses within the metro-Atlanta community by partnering with local veteran-focused organizations to reach this very important segment of the workforce. Through this committee, SHRM-Atlanta will harness the experience of our membership to increase the hiring of veterans.

We are also happy to announce our partnership with one of the premier veterans service organizations in the metro Atlanta, the Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia (VEO), and their VeteransWorks program.

The mission of VEO is to serve veterans in crisis and enhance the quality of life for veterans on their road to self-sufficiency. Since our establishment in 2008, VEO has served more than 5,500 homeless veterans.

VEO’s VeteranWorks program provides comprehensive job training and workforce development services to up to 229 eligible veterans within Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton counties.

We are excited about the relaunch of our committee and this new partnership!

Join us on January 13, 2021 for our formal kick-off event, “VEO Presents: The VeteranWorks Bootcamp Series – Fueled by SHRM-Atlanta.” The time of the event is 11am – 1pm. Click here to learn more and participate!
